End of four year journey

Google moving out of China reminds me of its entry four year back. Google on that time said that we are entering into China with some censorship issues because this country is "nation of the decade". But it was not an easy task to go against your own rule that is "Freedom of Information". Most important is the survey consisting 27000 Chinese, 78% of whom said "don't care if Google makes an exist". Finally Google said that they are moving to Hong Kong which is out of "Great Firewall of China".

Still i feel that this decision is the outcome of falling search market share. Baidu has emerged as the largest search giant of the largest internet market China. This made there decision easy as recruiting local employees was not giving them any advantage. So in the end they decided that making an exit is the best option.

If i talk about the benefit to India, i hope that Google server and main Asia office will come to Banglore. But you know that hope takes no time to get scattered, hence Google might choose Hong Kong as the best option as there economy and currency shoots Google more. India still had very less penetration but with "wimax" it may increase so i hope that Google may find India a better option as we have the potential to beat China's 220 million net users count.

It will interesting to see what is next step of Google.
